Here are three learning objectives based on the article "Empathy in Occupational Therapy: A Call for Reflection":

  1. Analyze the Role of Empathy in Occupational Therapy: Examine how empathy influences client-centered care, therapeutic relationships, and overall health outcomes in occupational therapy practice, especially in diverse and marginalized populations.

  2. Identify the Factors Contributing to Empathy Decline: Explore the contributing factors to the documented decline in empathy among healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, and discuss its implications for patient care and professional practice.

  3. Develop Strategies to Enhance Empathy in Clinical Practice and Education: Formulate practical strategies to foster empathy in occupational therapy students and practitioners, incorporating educational interventions, reflective exercises, and evidence-based approaches to counter empathy decline.
